Monkeys, Bananas, and Thermal Polish

I 💚 these little monkeys and bananas! I started with a base of PolishMeSilly's I'm Bananas Over You (two coats). When dry, I painted the monkeys on the thumb and ring fingers. I started with Zoya's Louisa and made the head shape; I made his ears with a dotting tool and the same polish. Using Zoya's Spencer and a large dotting tool, I made the inner part of the face; I used a small dotting tool and the same color. I took Zoya's Purity and a large dotting tool to make the whites of the eyes; using a smaller dotting tool, I made the pupils with Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chis; and with a teeny little dotting tool, I made light reflections in the pupils with the white. Using that same super small dotting tool and Louisa, I made 3 little hairs on top of his head. I then made a nose and a little tiny mouth with the same color/tool. For the other 3 fingers of each hand, I used a stamping plate from Winstonia. I first stamped the bananas with yellow (Zoya's Pippa), then filled them in with that same yellow. By the time I was done, they were dry enough to stamp over with black. I added a top coat and that's it! The top pics are of the thermal polish when your fingers are warm--it shows up as a light yellow. The bottom pics are after I've submerged my fingers in ice water--it turns to a bright green! Absolutely love this polish, it's so fun!

Foxy Nails

A friend sent me these nails on Pinterest and I've had them in my list of nails to do, and now I'm finally getting to them! The original artist is at eeeeknailpolish.com. 

I started with a base of Zoya's Purity. Using a thin nail art brush and Nailtini's Mai Tai, I drew in the head of the fox on my middle finger. I drew a curve from the top middle of the nail to each of the outside edges to make the markings of the face, then a half moon shape across the nail to make the head shape. I then drew two little tufts of hair coming off the top of the head. I drew a triangle on either side of the hair for the ears. Using a dotting tool and Zoya's Raven, I made a dot at the top middle of the nail for the nose, then one on either side of the face close to the markings for the eyes. I also drew a little eyelash with the nail art brush. Taking a smaller dotting tool and Purity, I made a small white dot in each of the eyes. For the tail, I just drew a kind of S-shape, then one below that and connected them. I then filled in the part that would be closest to the body. When I got toward the end and with no extra paint, I dragged what was left over to make the streaky end part of the tail. On all the other nails, I used a large and small dotting tool to make footprints along the nails. I finished with a top coat. I think these are so cute!!

Lego Movie Nails!

Me and the hubs went to The Lego Movie the other night and we thought it was great! (What are we, three?? Maybe...so what?!) I subscribe to The Nailasaurus blog and I got a notification the other day of these nails she just did, and I HAD to do them on myself! I painted a base of Essie's Blanc on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th nails. On the thumb and 5th nails, I added six and four rhinestones, respectively. I then painted the pinkies with Zoya's Robyn and the thumbs with Nailtini's Bloody Mary. I painted the entire 4th nail with Zoya's Cho, and the entire 2nd and 3rd fingers with a yellow acrylic paint. I did all the rest of the details with various acrylic paints. I also used Zoya's Louise to outline Emmet's hair and add details to it on the 3rd fingers. I finished everything off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I really liked how these turned out, even though they're not as good as Sammy's! This was my first time ever using acrylic paint on my nails and I've gotta say, it is so much easier to work with than nail polish!

Patchwork Shapes

I LOVE these nails! They are just almost too cute for words ;) Although mine are not as cute as the picture I got them from (saw them on Nails 2 Die For on Facebook--again, the artist was not credited). If I do them again, I think I will use a Sally Hansen nail art pen rather than a thin nail art brush to have thinner lines.

I started with a base of Essie's Sunday Funday. I made the heart, triangle, and square on the middle and ring fingers. Using Sunday Funday and a dotting tool, I made various sized dots in some of the shapes; then using the same color and a thin nail art brush, I made stripes in some of the shapes also. Using a thin nail art brush and Essie's Licorice, I traced around each shape and added hash marks around the edges to represent "stitching". I finished with a top coat of Seche Vite.

Tic tac toe, hearts, and lips

I love all of these nails!! I saw them all on the Facebook page Nails2Die For--again they did not credit the submitters. Anyway, for the nails:

Pinkies and ring fingers--Essie's Fiji for a base, on the pinky I used CQ pink lady  for the lip print, which I stamped with Shany Cosmetics XL2 plate. On the ring finger, I used Essie's blanc and a dotting tool to make 5 rows of 4 dots, one of which I replaced with a heart in CQs pink lady. I then traced it with a black Sally Hansen nail art pen. 

Middle and pointer fingers: I started with a base of CQs pink lady. Using a white nail striper from Shany, I made a little more than half a heart on each. I traced over that with a silver glitter nail striper. Using a Sally Hansen nail art pen in white, I outlined around the edge of the heart.

Thumbs: Start with a base of Essie's blanc. Using the black nail art pen, I drew a tic tac toe table and made Xs in some of the spaces. Then with pink lady and a dotting tool, I drew little hearts in a diagonal. I finished with a top coat of Seche Vite and that's that!

 

Stiletto Nails with Bows and Bling

I really wanted to try stiletto nails, so I decided today was the day to give it a shot. I did a google search to find a cute design, because, obviously, thats whats going to make the nail!! I found this design from lafemmeclassy.blogspot.com. I didn't have the plastic bows (I ordered some a couple of weeks ago, but they are shipping from HONG KONG!! so who knows when they'll be here lol) so I just decided to paint them on. I used active oval fake nails from Kiss, glued them on, and filed them to be a bit more almond shaped. Then I used fiji from Essie (two coats) on all nails but #4. On #4 I used blanc from Essie. I drew the bow with fiji and traced it with a black nail art pen from Sally Hansen. I added silver rhinestones around the bows. I finished with a top coat from Seche Vite. I really like how they turned out! Let's see if they stay on for longer than a week (I have terrible luck with fake nails!) :)
