I started with a base coat of Sephora Formula X in Wavelength. When dry, I used striping tape to tape off a triangle near the cuticle. I used Dolce & Gabbana Pearl Shimmer nail polish to fill those in, and removed the striping tape immediately so the polish didn't get sticky. Then I painted smaller triangles in those triangles with black acrylic paint and a thin nail art brush. I finished by (attempting to) cleaning up the cuticles and adding a top coat!
